the giggles eventually subside
and i allow my shoulders to unclench.
i’m cozy in your bed,
delighted by the invitation.
i find myself staring at the stars on your ceiling,
remembering faintly adhering them after some holiday.
wondering what do you think about
when you gaze at them?
are you too bothered by the uneven spacing
and resisting an urge to move a few?
or are you content with chaos?
i hope you’ve made a wish on each one
and that your every dream comes true.
for now I’ll turn over and succumb to sleep
while grinning about that younger version of you.
